Practice Weekend

So we have had a tough weekend. I think Rocky was giving us practice for the baby. No sleep and STRESS!!! It all began on Thursday when we noticed Rocky was bleeding and scratching at his neck. We bought one of those cone collars so he would stop scratching at it. On Friday we noticed his eye was goopy and starting to swell. I always hear that dogs bodies are really good at healing themselves so we waited one more day to see if he started to look better. Saturday morning came and he was worse. His eye was almost swollen shut and he neck was worse. So we took him to the vet.

Two hours, hundreds of dollars, and several sedatives later we left with a bag full of prescriptions and the beat up dog that sort of looked like our Rocky. It took three grown men to hold him down just to shave his neck over the wound. That is after he was given Valium and a strong sedative. We found out that he has a tissue infection in his neck. The Vet thinks it may have started off with a small scratch but Rocky irritated it and scratch at it so much that it turned into an infection. That then spread to his eye. He is now on a massive dose of Antibiotics and steroids. He looks much better even just after a day of the meds so we are very hopeful that he will be back to his old trouble making self in no time.
