Thanksgiving in the Countryside

Emily and I spent Thanksgiving in Ohio at my brother Josh's house with his family. My parents and other brother Dusty and his family came as well. Way to many Burke's in one house for my taste! haha just kidding...

It was a really fun weekend. Emily had endless kids to watch run past her all day long. She enjoyed Ely's endless energy. Her favorite turned out to be Adam (nephew not daddy). Everytime he talked to her she couldn't stop laughing. Her not so favorite... Josh. Not a shocker there. Everytime he talked she cried.

Emily's cousin Emma was a great helper. She read stories to her and wanted to hold her all the time. Emily was very spoiled.

We also made a visit to our good friend Chucky Cheese. Emily slept but woke to take some adorable pictures.
All in all it was a great Thanksgiving. Good food, good fun, and good family...well...... haha..
Thanks to Kristi for letting us crash her house. And thanks to josh for providing someone to make fun of all weekend!

What's been going on

It's been crazy busy for us these last few weeks. I am back at work and Emily is busy growing and growing. She has a doctor appointment coming up soon so it will be interesting to see how much bigger she has gotten in the past month. She feels about 18 lbs to me.
She has adjusted well to Daddy taking care of he during the day. Daddy is doing great! They have already started their Daddy daughter club that I am not allowed to join. Emily is rolling around more now and she started doing the best thing ever!! She can now hold her own bottle! She still hasn't mastered it quite yet and refuses to do it when she feels too tired but she tries really hard to keep it in her mouth.
We have some big changes coming up in the next month. We are moving to Washington DC. Adam has had a long standing job offer so we have been waiting for the perfect job to come up at the British Embassy down there. I received a job offer this week. I will be the Executive Assistant to the Regional Director of UK Boarder Agency. Basically the guy that is in charge of visa processing for all of the Americas (North and South). I am really excited for it. I couldn't have picked a better job to come up. So we will have busy month of finding a new place to live, moving, and starting new jobs. We are looking for wad to hopefully getting more space to live in.

Anyway that's what is going on with us! We are loving Fall and can't wait for Thanksgiving!!

This weekend in pictures

So this weekend was very very cold in New York so we didn't do much. I drove Emily nuts by taking her picture every five seconds. I had to post a couple because they are funny (and cute of course!). She made the funniest faces when the flash would go off on the camera so I didn't get one good picture of her smiling but I did get a million of these faces...
And of course she did a lot of this all weekend....

Back to life

Emily and I are back in New York and back to real life. I started back to work and it feels like I never had time off. Everything at my work changed or is changing. My boss quit to go travelling and they did lay off's this week and it included my favorite friend Jenna. It is going to be hard to go to work when all my favorite people are gone.

Emily is growing way too fast. She is reaching for things and putting them in her mouth. Adam says that she rolls over but I have yet to see it so I don't believe it. We are trucking along one day at a time! :O)

Goodbye, Hello, and Shots!

We have had a crazy couple of days. Emily and I said all our goodbyes and headed back to New York. We took the midnight jetblue flight back which worked out well. I would recommend it to anyone with kids. We arrived at 6 am the next morning. Emily slept the whole flight and I watch re-runs and infomercials. Lovely.

Emily was finally reunited with her daddy and her doggy. She loves to watch daddy no matter what he is doing. Her eyes follow him all around the room. She also enjoys Rocky but doesn't really care much yet about him. I am sadly not very excited to be back with all of Rocky's hair. Since Emily is putting her fists in her mouth I am going to have to vacuum everything at least once an hour to make sure she doesn't get his hair in her mouth. Anyone want a dog?

Today we took Emily to her two month appointment. No we didn't forget how to count she is three and half months but missed her appointment since we were in Utah. She got 4 of her vaccinations. And cried for about 2 hours straight after. She now weights 12 lbs and is 23.5 inches long. Her weight, height, and head measurements are all in the 50 percentile so she is moving right along. Also for anyone who was concerned about her belly button it is normal and fine. Apparently if you have a parent that is Mediterranean and get their olive skin you will get a brown pigment on your belly button. It may go away or it might stay for the rest of her life. Anyway just letting you all know so you will sleep better! :O)

Well that is the past two days for us. I have one more day and then it is off to work... That will be interesting !

7 down.....

Yesterday was Adam and my seventh anniversary! Yep that's right seven. It has been an interesting and fun ride (well most of the time). Here are just a few things that we have experienced....
-6 Apartments
- 1 silly dog
- 4 road trips
- 2 trips together half way around the world
- 1 Immigration application (ugh!)
- 1 Parliament Election (Many more to come I am sure!)
- about 20 car break downs

And the best thing of all 1 beautiful daughter. I am not really a mushy kind of girl so I won't go on and on about how great Adam is. But he is the best and he has made the last seven years the most interesting of my life. I am looking forward to the next 57 because it will only get crazier as we go I am sure! I am lucky to have a husband that loves and cares about me like he does and Emily is lucky to have a daddy that will always make her laugh until she cries (literally haha...).
